The following terms of service (these “Terms of Service”), govern your access to and use of the Citizens Work website including any content, functionality and services offered on or through www.citizenswork.com. These terms of service are subject to modification. Citizens Work is referred hereto as “Citizens Work” “we” or “us” and “you” or “user” means you as a user of the Site.

Please read the Terms of Service carefully before you start to use the Site. By using the Site, opening an account or by clicking to accept or agree to the Terms of Service when this option is made available to you, you accept and agree, on behalf of yourself or any other entity (if applicable), to be bound and abide by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not want to agree to these Terms of Service or the Privacy Policy, you must not access or use the Site.

This Site is offered and available to users who are 15 years of age or older. If you are under 15 you may not use this Site or the Citizens Work services. By using this Site, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract and meet all of the foregoing eligibility requirements. If you do not meet all of these requirements, you must not access or use the Site.

The original language of these Terms of Service, as well as all other texts throughout the Site, is English.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Users are both subscribers and visitors making use of the Citizens Work Services on the site.

Freelancer means any individual who registers on the Website and has the skills to perform any job posted.

Employer means a user who hires service providers. This could be an individual or organization.

Project means task/job/work or any activities that need to be done by a service provider.

Service stands for proposals that a freelancer can create/post in order to get job offers.

Categories refers to the job departments on the Citizens Work site.

Disputes are disagreements experienced between a Freelancer and an Employer.

Portfolio means samples of projects completed by freelancers.

Proposal stands for a job bid submitted to employers on the Citizens Work site.

Milestone means

ELIGIBILITY OF USERS AND REGISTRATION PROCESS

This Site is offered and available to users who are 15 years of age or older. If you are under 15 you may not use this Site or the Citizens Work services. By using this Site, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract with the Company and meet all of the foregoing eligibility requirements. If you do not meet all of these requirements, you must not access or use the Site.

Registration is free. Sign up and complete your profile to get jobs or post jobs.

PAYMENT OF FEES

Citizens Work will make payments to freelancers when employers confirm completion of a project. However, Employers can choose to break payments as milestones are reached. This is reliant on what was indicated in the job offer. Citizens Work will deduct a 10% commission of every transaction on the site. Kindly note that freelancers will not be able to withdraw amounts less than 500 naira from their wallets. Employers must not offer direct payments to Freelancers using payment systems outside of the Citizens Work platform.

PAYMENT METHODS

To withdraw your revenue, you must have a Nigerian Bank account. Revenues are only made available for withdrawal from the Revenue page following a safety clearance period of 14 days after the project is marked as complete. To withdraw your available revenue, you must click on the designated withdrawal provider to initiate the withdrawal process. Withdrawal fees vary depending on the withdrawal provider method. Withdrawals are final and cannot be undone. We will not be able to refund or change this process once it has begun.

HOW TO GET CHOSEN FOR A PROJECT & PROCESS OF CLAIMIMG REVENUE

Citizens Work has an array of Projects posted by employers. To get started, sign up as a freelancer, complete your profile and identification verification, upload job samples in your portfolio, post a service to get featured on the home page or search for jobs that best fit your skills. However, by using Citizens Work’s search engine, you can narrow down your search to find the exact job you need.

Revenues can only be claimed when projects are completed.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the interpretation of the provisions of this Agreement or the performance of same, shall be submitted to the Lagos Court of Arbitration and shall be resolved under the Rules of the Lagos Court of Arbitration. The dispute shall be resolved by a sole arbitrator, except as otherwise agreed by the parties to be by a tribunal of three arbitrators. The appointment of the Arbitrator(s) shall be in accordance with the said Rules, and the Award/Decision of the arbitrator(s) shall be final and binding on the parties. The seat of the arbitration shall be Lagos, Nigeria and the language to be used in the arbitral proceedings shall be English.
